What’s the Difference Between the Titan and the Titan XD?
If you look at each model, you might be hard pressed to find the differences. Ultimately, they lie in the vehicles’ measurements. The Titan is 228 inches long, approximately 79.5 to 80.7 inches wide, and 74.5 to 77.2 inches tall. It is built on a 139.8-inch wheelbase, regardless of the cab and bed configuration you choose.
The Titan XD, on the other hand, is a little bit larger, measuring in at 230.5 to 243 inches long, 79.5 to 80.7 inches wide, and 77 to 78.9 inches tall. It rides on a 139.8- to 151.6-inch wheelbase and comes in the same three configurations as its little brother; Single Cab with an 8-foot bed, King Cab with a 6.5-foot bed, and Crew Cab with a 6.5-foot bed (a 5.5-foot bed is found on the Titan Crew Cab).
Which Titan Model Should I Choose?
If you want a truck that’s easier to maneuver and is easy to get in and out of, the 2019 Titan will do the job perfectly. However, if you’re searching for a larger bed and higher ride height, the 2019 Titan XD is the model you should choose. When you look inside each model, you’ll notice that the cabins are almost exactly alike. If you’re interested in tech, you’ll be happy to hear that both models come standard with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Seating measurements inside the cabin are the same, and both include a 40/20/40 bench seat in the back.
Both Titan models come with a standard 5.6-liter V8 that makes 390 horsepower, 394 pound-feet of torque, and a towing capacity of 9,380 pounds, but the Titan XD offers drivers an additional engine option in the 5.0-liter turbo-diesel V8 that’s good for 310 horsepower, 555 pound-feet of torque, and a towing capacity of up to 12,710 when properly equipped. If you’re going to be using your truck for heavy duty tasks, the Titan XD should be the truck you look at first.
